Q: What does a day at work consist of for you?

A: News check early in the morning, hunting for next top trends in the hospitality industry, and last, but not least: morning break with the finest Ethiopian coffee.

Q: What’s the best part of your job?

A: Quick feedback from my audience and readers!

Q: Do you have anyone you’ve looked up to?

A: Maybe, after 25 years of advanced journalism, since 1997 in leading positions. Honestly, I learn at lot from the young media entrepreneurs, how to use technical gadgets and best-practice with the latest life-streaming apps, for instance.

Q: Do you have any nice traditions at your office?

A: Always (enough) time for a (quick) personal talk with my team members! And internal tasting sessions of new fancy (non-alcoholic) drinks, the finest coffee brews and teas, such as Matcha green tea.

Q: For how long have you known HSMAI?

A: I’ve been appreciating HSMAI for a long time. As a new media partner I’m very pleased with the strong partnership!

Q: What do you think is the best thing about HSMAI?

A: How can I put this? HSMAI is, of course, the best international network of the industry!

Q: Are there any activities or projects you think HSMAI should start up?

A: A fresh-up of the HSMAI Channel YouTube channel – with great pleasure and in cooperation with HOTELIER TV.

Q: Describe your perfect weekend.

A: 48 hours of pure time with my family out in the nature, and enjoying a ride on my horse.

Q: If you were trapped on a desert island, what would you take with you, if you could choose just one thing?

A: If possible, a container with all the books that I ever wanted to read.

Q: What is the title of the book about your life?

A: In Europe, by Geert Mak.

Q: What is your next travel destination?

A: Munich, for the famous Oktoberfest, so-called Wiesn!

Q: Do you have any special hobbies?

A: Riding, swimming, running, cooking, reading … I’m afraid I have way too many!

Q: Thank you for your time. Do you have any personal comments?

A: Let’s rock the industry together!
