This Wednesday brought news that Frank I. Wolfe, CAE, CEO for Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP), will be recognised as a CEO of the Year in the European-based corporate finance publication Acquisition International (AI), according to an HFTP-issued press release.
Published by AI Global Media, AI is a monthly magazine that seeks to inform, entertain, influence and shape the global corporate conversation through a combination of high quality editorial, rigorous research and an experienced and dedicated worldwide network of advisors, experts and contributors.
“This past year has been an amazing whirlwind for HFTP with the initiation of many strategic projects for HFTP, and this honour is notable recognition for all the efforts we’ve put in.” says Mr Wolfe. “Together with the HFTP Global Board and Executive Committee, the association has made significant progress toward bringing its signature services, such as quality education and resources to the hospitality finance and technology community. I am proud that our efforts have been recognised by such an esteemed publication, but I also know that we have much more to accomplish.”
AI features a CEO of the Month in each issue, with the recognised individuals helming from across the globe and multiple industries. This will be the first time the publication runs a feature recognising “CEOs of the Year.”
“We have an in-house research team who has spent recent months looking to establish those most deserving of this title,” said William Oades, Research Executive at AI Global Media. “Those things which the team take into consideration include previous accolades won, company performance since taking position at the helm (or since day one if a founder of the business) and client testimonials or recommendations.”
In addition, the research team also looks at any recent changes or developments within the organisation over the course of the year, this could include any acquisitions/investments made, expansions into new areas of business or into new jurisdictions and major recruitment drives. With Wolfe overseeing its direction, HFTP has made a number of bold moves towards global expansion. In 2015, the association announced plans to produce CIO Summits in Asia and Europe for 2016; build on the brand of HITEC, the largest hospitality technology show, with two additional events in 2017; and debuted the hospitality-specific search site Pineapplesearch.com.
HFTP has been a close partner of HSMAI in the United States for several years and the two associations continue to work closely together. HSMAI Europe has been working with HFTP in Europe as well and is looking forward to extending the collaboration moving forward. We are further developing the relationship now with HITEC coming into Europe in 2017, and HFTP is also active on many HSMAI Europe events.
HFTP, founded in 1952 and headquartered in Austin, Texas, USA with additional offices in Maastricht, The Netherlands, and Kowloon, Hong Kong, is the global professional association for financial and technology personnel working in hotels, clubs and other hospitality-related businesses. HFTP provides first class educational opportunities, research, and publications to members around the globe including the premiere hospitality technology conference HITEC — founded in 1972. HFTP also awards the only hospitality specific certifications for accounting and technology — the Certified Hospitality Accountant Executive (CHAE) and the Certified Hospitality Technology Professional (CHTP) designations. HFTP was founded in the USA as the National Association of Hotel Accountants. Learn more at www.hftp.org
